Art and the Brain

This summer, the Sun Life Financial Chair Team has included our first "Youth Artist in Residence".  Stella Ducklow, a NSCAD student with lived experience of mental disorder has been working to document different parts of the life of teens and youth with mental illness. From inside the walls of psychiatric institutions, to the trials, tribuations, sorrows, joys and self discoveries these youth have made, Stella Ducklow's work is powerful, moving and insightful.

She has been working with several youth groups in the community, and in the Children's hospital to help them share their stories. Click on the photos below to see a slide show of some of her work.
